Good Ol' Days weekend

Good Ol' Days weekend was a blast! Thanks to Rosemary and Paula for helping out in the store and thanks also to all the volunteers who worked so hard to put this wonderful weekend together.

All Quiet at the Fort

Things are quiet at the Fort for the moment, but the flapping of a really big helicopter over head tells me that things are going to get exciting soon!
Last year was our first Good Ol' Days experience. We worked at the Tourism booth on Main Street and really enjoyed chatting with local folks and visitors.
It really is a time for Fort Scott to shine. Don's team of hard working kids have mowed all the grass they could find, the Master Gardeners have planted beautiful flowers, building owners have spiffed up their properties too. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our fair city and encouraging them to come back again!

The Calm Before the Storm

North Main is nearly empty, and the anticipation is as intense as the humidity. The parade will start in about two hours and many, many volunteers and city staffers have been busy all week preparing for our annual city fair-Good Ol' Days.
It's been fun watching all the preparations from our front window. Inside, Rosemary and Jim have been baking cookies and bread hoping for lots of hungry visitors this weekend.
